Venda connects Nigerian buyers to verified local sellers with escrow-protected payments, real-time order tracking, and a platform built entirely for trust.
Vendamart is a Nigerian hyperlocal e-commerce marketplace built from the ground up to solve the trust problem in online buying and selling. We are not just another listing platform — we are a complete commerce infrastructure that protects both sides of every transaction.
Whether you are a fashion designer in Lagos, a bookstore owner in Kaduna, a gadget seller in Port Harcourt, or a food vendor in Abuja — Venda gives you a professional, verified online storefront with built-in payment security, customer messaging, order tracking and marketing tools. All for free.
For buyers, Venda means you can shop from local sellers across Nigeria and never worry about being scammed. Your payment is held in escrow until you physically confirm that your item arrived. If it doesn't, your money doesn't move.
Vendamart was founded by Obaro Michael, a teenage entrepreneur from Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria. Driven by a vision to make local commerce safer, faster and more accessible for everyday Nigerians, Obaro built Venda from scratch — designing the product, writing the code, and registering the business with the Corporate Affairs Commission at just a teenager.
The idea was born from a simple observation: millions of Nigerians want to sell online and millions want to buy, but the trust gap between strangers makes every transaction feel risky. Venda was built to close that gap permanently with technology, transparency and a system that always protects both sides.
"I built Venda because I wanted Nigerian sellers — especially young people, market women and small business owners — to have the same tools that big brands have. A verified storefront, secure payments, real customers. That's what Venda is." — Obaro Michael
Our mission is to give every Nigerian seller — from the market trader to the creative entrepreneur — a powerful, professional and trusted online presence without the complexity or cost of traditional e-commerce platforms.
We believe that commerce thrives when trust is guaranteed. That's why every single feature on Venda — from escrow payments to verified store badges to in-app messaging — is designed to build and protect trust between buyers and sellers who may never have met in person.
Every feature we build starts with one question — does this protect the buyer and the seller equally? Escrow, verification, dispute resolution — all built around trust.
We understand Nigerian commerce — USSD payments, local logistics, price negotiation culture, and the unique challenges of building trust in a new digital marketplace.
A market woman in Badagry and a fashion designer in Lagos Island should both be able to set up a store and make their first sale in under 10 minutes.
All financial operations run server-side. We never expose payment keys, never trust frontend data for financial calculations, and use bank-grade escrow for every transaction.
Nigeria already has marketplaces. So why Venda? Because the existing options were built for large-scale inventory and corporate sellers — not for the local tailor, the phone accessory vendor, the homemade food seller or the upcoming fashion brand trying to build a customer base from scratch.
No monthly charges. No listing fees. Sellers only pay when they sell — a small 8% platform fee on completed transactions.
We specifically target Nigerian cities and local communities. Same-city deliveries, local seller discovery and city-based search.
Unlike social media selling or Jiji-style listings, every Venda transaction is escrow-protected. Payment only releases when delivery is confirmed.
No need to share personal phone numbers. Buyers and sellers chat securely inside Venda with full message history and safety reporting.
Real sales data, store views, product performance, earnings history and referral tracking — tools that small sellers have never had access to before.
Our referral program lets content creators earn passive income promoting Venda. ₦500 per first qualifying sale and 2% royalty for 90 days.
Every kobo is held safely in escrow until you confirm delivery. Sellers only get paid when buyers are satisfied — zero risk for both sides.
Every store on Venda goes through a verification process. We check business details, approve tiers, and display trust badges so buyers shop with confidence.
Buyers and sellers communicate directly inside Venda. No WhatsApp, no DMs — everything stays on-platform for security and accountability.
Every seller gets a beautiful branded store page with their own URL, logo, banner, product listings, reviews and analytics.
A live 5-step order timeline keeps buyers informed from payment to delivery. Push notifications fire at every milestone.
Content creators earn ₦500 per first qualifying referral and 2% royalty on all purchases within 90 days. Passive income, automated payouts.
Venda works like a native app on any phone. Install it to your home screen, receive push notifications, and shop even with slow connections.
Sellers pay nothing to list products or maintain their store. Venda only earns a small 8% platform fee when a sale is successfully completed.
Every completed order can be reviewed. Ratings are verified — only real buyers who completed purchases can leave reviews.
Track sales, earnings, store views, order history, product performance and referrals — all from one clean dashboard.
Real-time in-app notifications, native push banners on lock screens, email alerts and sound effects for every important event.
Sellers can upgrade from Basic to Verified, Trusted and Elite tiers. Higher tiers unlock more features and display stronger trust badges to buyers.
Security on Venda is not an afterthought — it is baked into every layer of how the platform works.
When a buyer pays, funds are held in a secure escrow account. The seller receives payment only after the buyer confirms delivery. If a dispute arises, the funds remain locked until it is resolved. This eliminates payment fraud for sellers and delivery fraud for buyers in one move.
Every store on Venda goes through an admin review. Sellers upload identity documents, and stores are manually approved before going live. Verified stores display trust tier badges (Basic, Verified, Trusted, Elite) so buyers always know exactly who they are buying from.
All payments are processed by Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Venda never stores card details. All financial operations happen server-side with encrypted service keys — never exposed to the browser.
Venda detects and alerts users when their account is accessed from a new device. Suspicious logins trigger in-app security notifications and email alerts.
All in-app conversations are monitored for fraud and abuse patterns. Users can report suspicious messages and our team reviews flagged conversations within 24 hours.
